Gilt

Gilt - Katherine Longshore Phillipa Gregory for teens, but told from the vantage of a marginalized character. This novel covers the reign of Henry VIII's fifth wife, Catherine Howard. There's a romantic element, but it's not a romance. It's more about a girl who is bullied and forced into the shadows by her now Queenly BFF trying to navigate the complexities of life and friendship at a very tumultuous court. I like historical novels, and this is no exception, especially given that it's a YA novel. Recommended.
